Szu-Yun Lin World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2026

Szu-Yun Lin

Szu-Yun Lin is an Associate Professor of the Civil Engineering Department at the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Taking advantage of her strength and interest in computational modeling and simulation, Prof. Lin has pursued a diverse and broadly multi-disciplinary research agenda. Her work has encompassed computational modeling of the seismic response of underground tunnels, distributed computational simulation of hazards effects on communities facing disaster, modeling the interdependencies that occur between the various infrastructure systems of society during extreme events, and agent-based modeling of human behavior in disasters. Prof. Lin’s unique multidisciplinary research skills and insights allow her to continue to conduct impactful research at the intersection of structural engineering, hazard risk assessment, community sustainability and resilience, and application of AI in disaster management. Her most recent work is satellite imagery analysis using deep learning for built environment damage assessment in post-disaster emergency situations.
