Sylvia Fung World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2026

Sylvia Fung

A registered architect with over 20 years of professional experience, I have developed a distinguished practice across architecture, master planning, and urban design. My work has been recognized through award-winning and shortlisted projects by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards and the World Architecture Festival. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to advancing socially responsive and sustainable design, with a particular emphasis on placemaking, cultural identity, and long-term community impact. In addition to professional practice, I have made significant contributions to architectural education. Since 2012, I have taught at the Hong Kong Design Institute, initially within the Architectural Design programme and subsequently in the BA (Hons) Architecture degree, delivered in collaboration with the School of Architecture at the University of Lincoln, UK. I have also played an active role in curriculum development, helping to shape programmes that respond to evolving social, environmental, and technological conditions while strengthening the relationship between academic inquiry and professional practice. In 2024, I returned to Leigh & Orange Architects, where I currently serve as Associate Director. In this capacity, I lead projects across master planning, equestrian and hospitality design, and community-focused developments in Hong Kong and the Middle East. My work continues to focus on delivering design leadership that integrates sustainability, innovation, and social value at both strategic and human scales.
