José Antonio Tenorio
José Antonio Tenorio Ríos holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (ETSICCP), Madrid University (Spain), and a PhD from Seville University. He has been working at the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science (CSIC) since 1999, initially in the Quality in Construction Unit, where he served as Head of Unit from 2010 to 2016, combining technical responsibilities with the coordination of research projects. In 2016, he joined the Construction Department and has been a Tenured Scientist at CSIC since 2017.
Dr. Tenorio leads the research group Advanced and Sustainable Construction, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and climate adaptation in the built environment. His main research lines include sustainable construction materials, industrialization, digitalization, energy and data-driven approaches to sustainability in construction. He regularly conducts publicly funded research projects, is the author of numerous scientific publications, and a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
He chairs the SC1 CTN198 AENOR Committee on Building Sustainability, and is an active member of CEN/TC 350, the InData Working Group, and collaborates with EOTA and the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP).
